I remember doing an interview regarding my book, “It’s Not Where You Start, But Where You Finish That Counts.” with Joe Pailin, a faithful Bethlehem member and friend. The interview was recorded for the “Visions of Victory” program. In the interview, Joe asked me how I see the future. I responded by saying, “I look at the glass as half-full rather than half-empty.” No matter what we are all going through, the future is in God’s hands. No president, king or other power can take the place of our God. Every day, I live with the knowledge that this is my Father’s world. I am confident that we have a God who can turn things around. It is bad to wake up in the morning and look forward to nothing. I am grateful that God still reigns and rules. In Matthew 6:34 we read:

“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.”

The Master speaks of not being anxious about tomorrow. God is sufficient for today. Jesus lived with the knowledge that God is in control. No matter what happened in His life, He was confident in His Heavenly Father. He warns that we need not borrow troubles from tomorrow. Tomorrow will have enough trouble of its own. Day-by-day we should trust in Him who holds the day. He knew all about living in the now and trusting God for tomorrow. It is my prayer today that you know who holds your future. You are secure in that blessed knowledge.
