Thanks be unto God; the Lord is coming back again! The Day of the Lord is fast approaching. He is coming back for His church and His people, and we need to always be ready. No one knows the day or the hour (Matthew 24:36). Yet, according to God’s Word, the Day of the Lord is at hand. We may have heard this before, but because He has not come during our lifetime, we may have tended to pass it off. However, every believer should know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that the Lord is coming again. In 1Thessalonians 5:2, we find these words:

“For you know quite well that the day of the Lord’s return will come unexpectedly, like a thief in the night.”

The Thessalonians are reminded that they don’t know the exact day of the Lord’s return, but they are assured that they know He will return. The church is to be on guard and ready. They are not to be asleep, but to be awake and sober. I pray that we are all living faithful lives, pleasing unto God, while we are on guard anticipating His return. I remember that as a child, we were asked the question in Sunday School, “If the Lord came today, would you be ready?” In my youth, my answer was “No.” But now, I have matured, and I have asked God to prepare me so that I will be ready for His return. I pray that all of us will be prepared for His return.
