THE CONDITION OF THE HEART

Some of us have had heartaches that may have come upon us swiftly, without any warning. Consequently, we must always check the condition of our hearts. The medical community says that exercise, getting physical exams and several other things are needed to ensure that our heart is working properly. Thank God for those in the medical field. However, there are those of us whose physical hearts are beating well and in good shape, but our spiritual hearts are out of tune. We have hardened and cold hearts. Only Dr. Jesus can fix a cold and broken heart. Tell someone today that Jesus is a heart-regulator. In Luke 8:15, we find these words:

“’And the seeds that fell on the good soil represent honest, good-hearted people who hear God’s word, cling to it, and patiently produce a huge harvest’.”

Luke places emphasis on those who hear the Word with an honest and good heart; with patience, they bear fruit. Luke indicates that the seed is the Word of God. The seed that grows in a good heart will provide fruit that is bountiful. In fact, Luke analyzes different hearers of the Word and how the seed is sown in each. Those who had an open heart produced great blessings, loving others with all their heart, soul and mind. One’s heart must be right with the Lord. Prayerfully, our hearts are in good condition, not because of a medical exam, but because of our relationship with God. As I said earlier, Dr. Jesus is a heart-regulator. If you need a heart tune-up, ask Him to help you. He will turn your bad heart into a good one filled with the love of God.
