There are many battles that we engage in that are useless. We spend too much time trying to fight a battle that is not ours in the first place. Take a moment, are you engaged in battle now, rather than letting the Lord fight your battle? We do not have the power to win the battles on our own. God will handle our battles if we just give it to Him. He is stronger than we are, wiser than we are and will always find ourselves on the winning side when we turn concerns over to Him. II Chronicles 20:15 is our scripture lesson today.

“He said, ‘Listen, all you people of Judah and Jerusalem! Listen, King Jehoshaphat! This is what the Lord says: ‘Do not be afraid! Don’t be discouraged by this mighty army, for the battle is not yours, but God’s.’’”

In this moving passage, the people are up against some mighty foes. They are powerless against the mighty army that is about to attack them and they cry out to the Lord for help. They do not know what to do. The servant of the Lord told the people “Do not be afraid. Do not be alarmed by this mighty army.” The battle does not belong to them. God wants His servant to tell the people not to fear the Lord who is with them. The people of Judah and Jerusalem must learn that the Lord with them.” Read this entire chapter. The same way that God was with his servant, He will also be with us. Remember that the battle is neither yours nor mine. The battle is the Lord’s.
