God’s love is amazing. He cannot be compared to any other love that we might be blessed to receive. He loved us so much that He gave His only begotten Son so that believers can have eternal life. That is love. He made the supreme sacrifice for our sins. No one took His life; He laid it down fully and freely. That’s love. It is amazing and astonishing that the Lord loves us in such a way that we cannot comprehend it. His love is unconditional. He loves us at our best and at our worst. People love us at our best, until they see us at worse than our best and then their love diminishes. God’s love never gives up on us. He loves us even when we don’t love Him. Today’s devotion speaks of this in John 15:13.

“There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.”

We see the remarkable love of God in this text. Love is revealed. We, called God’s friends, are called into a deep and profound relationship. It is in the fellowship of love that we are called to serve. In addition, we are called to love one another. We also see that He loved us before we loved Him. He chose us before we chose Him. His love is filled with grace and mercy. This is Agape love! This is supreme love! I remember the song, “What’s love got to do with it?” Love has everything to do with it. Thank God for His love that will never let us go. Take a moment and praise God for His gift of love to His children.
