On this Thanksgiving Day, we have much for which to thank God.  Although this Thanksgiving may differ in many ways, by not having our family gatherings, wearing masks and social distancing, we still have reason to give God thanks. Every day is a day of thanksgiving. Every day on our Church Without Walls we have an acronym: Thursday is “TAG” – Thanking Almighty God. As a boy, we played tag. Today, we are not able to play that game. Today, we can certainly take the opportunity to thank God. The scripture lesson today is found in Psalm 100:4 and reads in this manner:

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving; go into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him and praise his name..”

The psalmist calls upon the people of God to lift their voices in praise. The service in which the people will participate is that of thanksgiving. They enter with psalms of thanksgiving on their lips eager to express God’s faithfulness. In fact, the psalm begins by saying, “Shout with joy in all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness. Come before Him singing with joy.” Whatever you do today, take a moment and shout with joy. Give God the praises He so richly deserves. Have your home become a sanctuary where you can acknowledge God’s goodness. Give someone an elbow, letting him or her know that you are tagging him or her with the goodness of the Lord. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving, knowing that He is worthy to be praised.
