I am truly grateful for Minister Robin Hinton who helps me prepare these devotions.  Prior to writing this devotion today, we had a wonderful inspiring conversation about forgiveness and other life’s issues.  As I reflected upon our conversation, I realized the importance of healing as well as the need to tell God our needs. Many of us, if we are honest, need healing from hurts and disappointments. Some of us need to tell God of the needs we have to strengthen our lives. Someone said that we have not because we ask not. All we need to do is to tell our God, who is powerful and mighty, what we need. The scripture reference for this devotion is found in Matthew 7:7

“Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:”

We read of the confidence in prayer. The emphasis is on “ask”. Prayer is essential for our well-being. The verse says – seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened up to you. The one who asks will receive. When we pray, we need to be specific. We need to let the Lord know exactly what we need. Deacon Vanessa Brown, a faithful woman of God who has led our early morning Church Without Walls service on many occasions, says, “Prayer Rendered, Prayer Received.” All we need, God will provide. Never stop asking, seeking or knocking, for it shall be given unto us that which we need
