TAKE REFUGE IN THE LORD
First, give thanks to God today that we can take refuge in Him. He is our shelter and our strength. We will find the help that we need in times of trouble. I am prayerful that you have had this experience for yourself. You can bear witness to the strength that comes when you take refuge in the Lord. Take the opportunity to cast all your cares upon Him. He cares for, and He loves, each of us. He will give us the strength that we need for every situation. In Psalm 5:11, we find these words:
“But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy.”
The psalmist calls upon the people of God to take refuge in the Lord, urging them to sing songs of praise. He knows that when you take refuge in God, His power will recharge you and fill you with joy. He begins this chapter by praying to the Lord, asking the Lord for His help and protection. For His unfailing love, the psalmist vows to worship the Lord. He is confident that the Lord will be His strength, when he stands against His enemies, something he would not have been able to do had he not first taken refuge in the Lord. When you get a chance, read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, in your time of need, you will take the opportunity to cast your cares upon Him and experience the blessing that comes when you take refuge in the Lord.
