TAKE ONE DAY AT A TIME

Each day we live is a blessing from God. We should learn to appreciate every day because God gives us new mercies each day. Notice that I said “new” mercies, not leftover or recycled mercies. That means that each day we will have all that we need. There is no need to rush tomorrow’s blessings because tomorrow is not promised. Live each day to the fullest. We have more than we need for this new day. In Proverbs 27:1, we find these words:

“Don’t brag about tomorrow, since you don’t know what the day will bring.”

The writer gives us sound advice. He is simply saying, “Take one day at a time.” No one but God knows what the day will bring. Throughout this chapter, the author speaks about learning to appreciate the joy of the Lord each day rather than complaining. As I stated earlier, I think this is sound advice.  We need to learn to take one day at a time.  Greet each morning with praise and Thanksgiving, for each day is a day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it!
