Today’s devotion speaks about the strength that comes to us when we are weak. I would argue strongly that we all get weak at times. Life’s problems can wear us down. We can become exhausted from life’s battles. We realize as those battles continue, that we are no match for them on our own. Not only do our bodies become weak, our minds and hearts become weak. We become weary and worn, but the good news is that there is strength when we are weak as seen in today’s scripture reference. II Corinthians 12:9

“Each time He said, ‘My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.’ So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”

In this passage of scripture, Paul is assured that in his weakness he will find the strength that he needs. Paul has a thorn in his flesh. Three times, he begged the Lord to take it away. Nevertheless, each time, the Lord repeats that His grace is sufficient. Therefore, Paul does boast about his weakness, but that the power of Christ works through Him. Paul is transparent and does not try to give the impression that he has strength on his own. However, he recognizes in his weakness that God is his strength. God assures him that He is all the strength he needs. When you get a chance, read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, you will believe beyond a shadow of a doubt that God’s power and strength are available to you. We cannot rely on our own strength for it will fail us. But God’s strength will help us deal with those weak areas in our lives. Remember this! His grace is sufficient for you.
