STOP MAKING EXCUSES

I find it amazing that we make so many excuses about what we can and cannot do. The Word of God clearly says, “I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me.” God has given us the power to overcome every obstacle. We do not have to live defeated, nor make excuses about the choices we have made. God has given us the opportunity to come to Him and find the answers to the problems and challenges we face. The enemy has no power over us for we are more than conquerors through Him who strengthens us. The scripture reference for today is Psalm 18:3.

“I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and He saved me from my enemies.”

The psalmist shares his testimony. He does not make excuses for what he was not able to do. He simply says, “I called the Lord and He rescued me from my enemies: the psalmist begins this psalm by indicating his love for the Lord who is his shield and protector. From verse 1 to 50, he acknowledges God’s unfailing love toward him. In every twist and turn of his life, the psalmist found the answer to the problems he was facing. This is today’s lesson: rather than making excuses, simply give God praise. Only He has the power and the strength we need to live victorious lives. No weapon formed against us shall prosper. Thank God today for His victorious right hand, which guides and protects us each day.
