Stop Grumbling

I believe that we spend too much of our time grumbling instead of thanking God . I hesitate to even ask some people how they are doing, because  instead of giving God thanks, they give a litany of all they are going through, acting as victims rather than victors. If  we really want to stop grumbling, all we need to do is think about the blessings of God. There is so much to thank Him for. When asked how we are doing, we should simply respond, “No need to complain, just grateful to God for another day.” In Proverbs 16:13, we find these words:

“The king is pleased with words from righteous lips; he loves those who speak honestly.”

He who is wise speaks words that honor God; they are mindful of God’s blessings and spend less time grumbling and more time praising. Prayerfully, the words that flow from our lips will delight and honor the Lord, and express our gratitude for what the Lord has done and is doing in our lives. The next time we are tempted to grumble, we should take a moment to reflect upon God’s goodness. We will find there is nothing to grumble about.
