STAY IN THE RACE

As believers, we must always stay in the race. We know the race is not given to the swift, but to those who endure to the end.  We must put our faith and trust in God. Some of us drop out of the race as soon as we run across an obstacle or roadblock in other words, the trials and troubles in life.  What we fail to realize is that God will give us the strength to endure.  Trials and troubles are a part of life, but we must learn to commit ourselves to Christ and have faith that He will see us through those situations rather than allowing them to deter us from staying in the race. In 1 Corinthians 9:24, we find these words:

Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs.

The writer shares the importance of running the race, explaining in verses 25- 27, “All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize… I discipline my body like an athlete…. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.” The writer recognizes that he must continue to discipline himself. Read these words and
make a commitment, if you have not already done so, to finish what you start.
