Every morning on the Church Without Walls, I open up with these words, “This is the day that the Lord has made. Let us rejoice and be glad in it.” Those words resonate in my heart. I believe we should start each day praising the Lord and thank Him for a brand-new day filled with mercy. Let the Lord know how grateful we are by honoring Him and thanking Him with our hearts, minds and entire being. God loves the praises of His people. He deserves our praise. Instead of complaining when you awaken, give God praise. The scripture reference is found in Psalm 63:5 and reads in this manner:

“You satisfy me more than the richest feast. I will praise you with songs of joy.”

In this moving passage, the psalmist acknowledges the power and love of God. He has made a commitment that for as long as he lives, he will lift his hands in prayer and praise. Throughout the night, he writes, he meditated on the Lord’s goodness. He said, “Because you are my helper I sing for joy.” His joyful heart breaks out in song. I cannot sing, but Lord knows I can open my mouth to praise Him. Prayerfully, you will begin each day by lifting your voice, opening your heart and giving God the glory and honor He deserves. Your day and your life will be better. God will honor you because you have honored Him.
