STAND ON YOUR WATCH
God calls us to stand on our watch. We must be diligent to always, always be on
watch. We know the importance of watching as well as praying. Sometimes, we
become so engaged in prayer that we stop watching. Watching and praying work
together. We must always be aware of our surroundings and be watchtowers for
our God. We know that God watches us, but we must watch faithfully for anything
that would seek to come against our God. Underline today’s powerful scripture found in Habakkuk 2:1:
“I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to
see what He will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.”
The prophet speaks of his willingness to stand watch. Even as he speaks on behalf
of God, he is quite aware that there are those who would challenge the almighty
God. They will challenge God as well as his own faithfulness, so he wants to be
able to stand on what is right and true. Habakkuk sees the
destruction of evil that has come over the people. He knows that
God’s power is a greater force than evil, but he is concerned that the
arrogant and sinful people will fall into the hands of those seeking
to destroy them. The prophet wants to make sure that the vision is
written on tablets so that they can have a clear understanding of how to stand strong
in difficult times. We are living in perilous times, and we must know what we must
do to stand in difficult times. Prayerfully, you are standing with God, you are on
your watch daily, and you know that no weapon formed against you shall prosper
