STAND FAST IN THE FAITH
It is important for us to stand fast in the faith. We must be totally committed to the Lord, not allowing distractions or interruptions to cause us to waver in our commitment. When we commit to follow the Lord, we must remain “steadfast, unmovable always abounding in the work of the Lord…” as stated in 1 Corinthians 15: 58 (ESV). The times when our faith is tested is when we will need to just stand. When life causes us to doubt whether we have made the right choices, are the times when we will need to just stand. Others may question if we are truly following Him, but again, we will need to just stand. Stand fast on the promise we made to God and watch Him work. In Luke 9:51, we find these words:
“As the time drew near for Him to ascend to heaven, Jesus resolutely set out for Jerusalem.”
Here we see Jesus standing fast. He knew what He faced in Jerusalem; yet, He went to Jerusalem anyway, alone, for not even his followers could share in His journey. What a powerful story, for there are times when we will all have to travel alone. But we must always stand fast in the faith and in our commitment to follow Him wherever He leads
