SING FOR JOY
Today’s devotion title is way over my head. Sing for joy. I have said that I cannot sing, yet the Lord knows I have many reasons to sing for joy. My voice may be bad, but my heart is glad. I may not be able to carry a tune, but I can sure give God praise. You do not need a trained or a good voice, but if you know that you are blessed, you can sing bad voice and all. We have something to sing about. God has been good to us. I urge you to sing aloud for the joy the Lord has given to you. Sing in the morning; sing at night. Sing when things are good or bad. Sing to God’s glory. Psalm 5:11 reads in this manner,
“But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them sing joyful praises forever. Spread your protection over them, that all who love your name may be filled with joy.”
The psalmist praises the Lord. He speaks of the joy of the righteous. He prays for himself and all who love His holy name. He wants them to sing for joy and exalt God’s faithfulness. He wants them to shout praises unto God. We need some of that spirit that we might shout and sing praises unto God, who is worthy of all praise. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so. If He has been good to you, sing songs and say so.
