Showing Grace

The words that comes out of our mouths should give glory to God and edify His people. Sometimes, however, the words that come from our mouths create much pain and heartache for others. It is my prayer today that we are conscious of every utterance from our mouths, so that we cause no harm to anyone, and that we will always show grace. In Ephesians 4:32, we find these words:

“Instead, be kind to each other, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, just as God through Christ has forgiven you.”

In this moving chapter, we see a warning not to grieve the Holy Spirit. The people of God are to put away all bitterness, wrath, anger and evil speaking. These are the ethical teachings of our Christian beliefs. Paul is painting a picture for us as to what it truly means to have the heart of God: to be kind, tenderhearted and forgiving to one another. Let us all go to God today and ask Him to take control of our tongues, that we may speak kindly towards others, showing grace the way that He would have us do.
