Share Love with Someone

Love was meant to be shared. God shared His love for us, and we are called upon to share our love with others. Every day we have the opportunity to share genuine love: love for God, for family, and for friends. Life becomes so much more meaningful when we give love. Some of us are able to receive love, but have little capacity to give it. If any of us are feeling unloved today, then we should ask ourselves if we are sharing love with others. When we give love, it will come back to us. In 1 Peter 4:10, we find these words:

“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another.”

Here Peter speaks about gifts; gifts can be translated into love. Love is a gift to be given. He speaks about being good stewards of that gift and to use it wisely. In God’s bountiful blessings, He has bestowed upon us gifts. The Word says in 1 Corinthians 13:1, “ If I have the gift of prophecy, and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith, that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing….”  God’s love is genuine and pure and covers a multitude of sins (1 Peter 4:8). That is the kind of love we should offer — love that is not jealous or resentful, but love that speaks of kindness and gentleness. Where would we be without God’s love for us? He gives us unconditional love; love that we don’t even deserve. Surely, if He can grant us such love, then we can share love with someone else. May our lives be strengthened today as we share deep and abiding love.
