It is a blessing to serve the Lord. God’s love for us is amazing. Every time we have the opportunity to serve Him in any capacity, it should be done with joy and gladness in our hearts. The mere fact that He has chosen us in spite of our sins is far beyond our own human understanding. A Holy God has called us to enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. That is awesome and unbelievable! The scripture reference is found in Psalm 100:1.

“Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth!”

In this moving passage, the psalmist offers God thanksgiving and praise. He calls upon the people to worship the Lord with gladness. He tells them to come into His presence with singing. The psalmist shares from his heart the goodness of the Lord. He indicates that God’s love continues forever. His faithfulness continues through each generation. The Lord never stops loving His people. He is kind and gracious to those whom He loves. Our response to Him should be with a joyful heart. The fact that He made us; we are His people, the sheep of His pasture. Take the time today to thank God for all of His bountiful blessings. Make a commitment that whenever you are called to serve, you will do it with a grateful heart. In fact, thank Him today.
