RUN THE RACE TO WIN

The Christian race is a long and tedious journey. There will be roadblocks along the way and when we face them, we cannot give up. We must continue to run this race, for it is not given to the swift, but to those who endure to the end. We must start what we finish, and we must run to win. The scripture lesson is found in Philippians 3:14.

“I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”

This deep and moving scripture speaks of pressing toward the goal. Paul realizes that he has not achieved that which he has sought to accomplish. He writes that he keeps on pressing, forgetting the past, and looking forward to what lies ahead. He is pressing His way. He wants to reach the goal line. He runs with determination and faith with confidence that he will receive the prize at the end of the race. He is not fooling himself, and he is seeking to be spiritually fit so that he might complete what he has started. Prayerfully today, you are making every attempt to stay in the race to win, so that you might receive your heavenly crown.
