RESURRECTION SUNDAY – HE IS RISEN

Today’s message on this Resurrection Sunday is entitled, He Is Risen, and speaks to the very core of our being. I remember Pastor Albert F. Campbell, Pastor Emeritus of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, would say, “He is Risen. He is Risen indeed.” It may not be grammatically correct, but it is theologically sound. Others may doubt that the Jesus we worship is alive. Oh, we know that He got up from the grave with all power in His hands! Because He lives, we live also. This day is a great celebration. Regardless of what the world says, believers should know that we serve a Living Savior. That is our help. Our world is corrupt, filled with hate and bitterness, but we have a Savior we can turn to and express our deep and genuine thanks for being with us every step of the way. Death could not hold Him down. God’s Word says He got up with all power in His hands. I have heard Pastor Waller preach, “If I were a better preacher, you would be shouting right now.” I pray that as you read this, you are shouting. My words may not be as eloquent as God’s Word, but I believe with all my heart that the Master is alive. Today’s devotion is Matthew 28:6:

“He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as He said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.”

He is risen! That fact changed the course of history. Resurrection brought forth power. As you read this chapter, you see how Mary Magdalena and the other Mary went to anoint the Master at the tomb. A great earthquake occurred, and an angel descended from heaven, rolled the door away and sat. The women were frightened. The angel spoke be not afraid He is not here. He is risen just as He said He would. They ran with great joy to proclaim that the Savior was alive. Tell someone today that the Master lives! Let them know He lives in you and that He reigns and rules over this world. Prayerfully you will make your way to the house of the Lord today and shout for joy that our Savior is alive forever more.
