REPENTANCE

Whenever I think of our relationship with the Lord, I find myself amazed at how He forgives us over and over again. It is important for us to acknowledge our sins, shortcomings and errors, so that we might ask His forgiveness. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves (1 John 1:8). Not only is it important to ask God to forgive us for our sins of the past, but we must ask Him to forgive us for our current sins each and every day.  Thanks be unto God that He is a forgiving God. As we repent, we are made whole. In Mark 1:15, we find these words:

“The time promised by God has come at last!’ he announced. ‘The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!

Mark says that we need to repent and to believe the gospel. This passage of Scripture records Jesus calling men to repentance, just as John did. Repentance is necessary in our relationship with God. It is my prayer today, that not only have we each repented, but that we are all consistently going before God asking His forgiveness. Now is the time to repent and to believe in the Good News!
