In far too many cases, we have somehow left out an especially important part of reaping. We constantly hear people say that you reap what you sow, when they are referring to how people reap a bad harvest for things they have done. To make matters worse, they give a litany of accusations about people and claim that God is getting even with them. I must admit, there may be some truth to that. However, I really do not know. None of us is immune. Today’s devotion speaks of reaping a good harvest. When we harvest good seeds, we will reap good seeds. If you sow love, you will receive love. If you sow kindness, you will receive kindness. If you sow forgiveness, you will be forgiven. It is important that we sow good seeds. Hosea 10:12 reminds us in is our scripture lesson today.

I said, ‘Plant the good seeds of righteousness, and you will harvest a crop of love. Plow up the hard ground of your hearts, for now is the time to seek the Lord, that He may come and shower righteousness upon you.’”

In this deep and moving passage, the writer states that you will harvest good seeds when you plant seeds of righteousness. He writes that you will receive a harvest of love. The writer calls upon God’s people to avoid the Lord’s judgement. He does not want them to violate the will of God. Instead, he wants them to plow the ground of their hearts and ask the Lord to shower righteousness upon them. I pray that you are sowing good seed. Remember, hate brings hate; love, brings love. What seeds are you planting?
