RAISING OUR EXPECTATIONS
Every day we should expect God to do something, great and glorious. Not only should we expect God to bless us, we should also expect good to flow from our lives. Whenever you are in a crisis, or life’s problems are surrounding you, look with great anticipation for God to bring you out. Never feel as though you are beyond help, for all of our help cometh from the Lord. Expect to be blessed! Live with the hope that tomorrow will be better than today. Know that God is able. In Jeremiah 33:3, there is emphasis on raising our expectations:
“Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.”
This is a powerful verse, for the Lord indeed bids us to call upon Him. He promises to reveal things that they have not heard or known before. God is going to do mighty things! He is bidding them to return to the joy that is awaiting them, for the joy of the Lord shall be the strength of the people. The promises of restoration and joy to the nation are made known. The overall theme is to get ready for God to make some changes; in other words, expect great things! Those words do not just apply to the people of Jerusalem, but they apply to us today. Get ready, get ready, get ready! It does not yet appear what we shall be.
