On November 6^th,, my wife and I were blessed to celebrate 39 years of marriage. I must admit that in those 39 years I have not always fulfilled her To-Do list. Most married men know of “Honey Do List.” But I thank God for grace despite the times I fell short. The same is true when I think about God’s To-Do List. There are things God has called us to do and we have not always done them. We all need to put God first on our To-do-list. He deserves all our attention, and we ought to make Him our first priority. Jeremiah 7:23:

“This is what I told them: ‘Obey me, and I will be your God, and you will be my people. Do everything as I say, and all will be well!’”

In this deep and moving passage of scripture, the Lord speaks to His people. They have not always fulfilled their commitment to Him. In this chapter, the Prophet Jeremiah calls upon the people to put God first. God tells Jeremiah to do everything He commanded them to do and they will be His people. Nevertheless, the people would not listen and continued to do what they wanted. Their hearts were hardened. They went backwards instead of forward. Read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, you are carrying out the commands that God has given to you and that He is first in your life and on your To-do list as you honor and serve Him.
