Profitable
Some of the things we get involved in add very little value to our lives, yet we spend a lot of time on them. It is much more profitable for us to read, study, and apply the Word of God to our lives. It speaks to our every need. In our day-to-day journey, whatever we need can be obtained from God’s Word. It is the Bread of Life and the substance we need to handle life’s challenges, to be better human beings, spouses, parents, and believers. In 2 Timothy 3:16, we find these words:
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.”
Paul is clear when He speaks about the power of the Word. Those who approach it in faith are blessed. God has breathed His Spirit on these sacred writings. According to the King James Version, these words are “profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, and for instruction in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16.) Every scripture is inspired for God to speak to us. Today, I pray that not only are we are inspired , but that we are also guided. We should not simply have a Bible on our tables at home, but we should carry the Word of God in our hearts.
