Prepare Your Mind
Peter does not want the people to miss the blessings of God. Consequently, he says to pull your minds together, “gird up the loins of your mind.” He wants the people to be obedient unto the Lord, sober with their hope fully upon the grace that has been given to them. Be obedient. Be holy. Be honorable unto God. Do not indulge in things that would take you away from God, but rather prepare your mind to be in His will. It is critical to comprehend that our minds are connected to our hearts, for the scripture says, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” If you think evil, you will do evil. Prayerfully today, not only do you have a mind of God, but also you prepare your mind by engaging in holy thoughts and deeds.
