Prayer has power. Prayer can give you peace. It is amazing what prayer can do. When you think that all is lost and there seems to be no hope, turn to God in prayer. When you feel that you cannot go any further, pray and God will give you strength. God will deliver you. Make no mistake about it there is power in prayer. I have heard it said, “When you pray, let God have his way for He will fix it for you.” Today’s scripture is found in Luke 22:44:

“And being in an agony He prayed more earnestly: and His sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.”

We read of Jesus, the suffering servant, praying. He prayed earnestly and the Word said that sweat as drops of blood fell to the ground. He knew that betrayal and death was ahead of Him. He prayed for strength. He did not face death as if He was defeated. Jesus prayed as one who had already won the battle. He prayed for strength to endure what lay ahead. The Word said that an angel appeared and strengthened Him. Jesus was prepared for the journey. He prayed, not for His own will, but that the Father’s will be done through Him. Jesus was fortified as He went to the cross.  He did not hang on the cross as a victim, but one who was victorious. His strength was renewed, and He said, “It is finished.” He did the work He was called to do, and He finished as a mighty warrior. I pray that you have prayed for your journey, knowing that God will give you the strength to finish victoriously.
