PRAYER IS A PRIVILEGE
I do not know if we ever thought about prayer as being a privilege. I would argue that we look at prayer as an obligation. The Bible tells us that we ought to pray, but remembering that it is a privilege to call on the name of the Lord. Our Holy God has allowed us to come before Him as sinful as we are and to bring our prayers to Him. We can come to Him just as we are. What a blessing! Never take prayer for granted, for it is a gift God gives to His children. It is an honor that we can carry everything to God in prayer. He is always there to hear and answer our prayers. The scripture reference is Hebrews 4:16.
“So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive His mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”
We are invited to come boldly to His throne. God has granted us the privilege to come to Him in prayer. As we come to Him, we will receive His mercy and grace to help us where we need it the most. Our great High Priest understands our weaknesses and needs and is there to grant His love to us. Sinful as we are, He is there to cleanse us of all unrighteousness. Our Great High Priest has extended a gracious invitation to come to Him just as we are. We thank God for this privilege to find the help we need. I believe with all my heart that prayer and praise go together. As a result of God’s graciousness toward us, we, in turn, praise Him. As you pray today, thank God for the privilege to call His name. There is power in His name; therefore, every knee should bow, and every tongue confess that He is Lord.
