PRAY WITHOUT CEASING
As people of God, we must pray constantly; we can never stop. Prayer should be a continuous part of our lives, always. We should never neglect the power of prayer. We need to discipline ourselves to pray when things are well, as well as when things are not so well. Think about this for a moment: “Have you prayed today? Do you pray, every day? Do you pray when you get up in the morning and before you close your eyes at night? How is your prayer life?” I get a message on my phone every day that says, “Did you read the word today?” This reminds me to read God’s word and to pray. So, I’m asking the readers, “Did you take time to pray today?” Be consistent in your prayer life. Never neglect it and give God thanks! Find a position of reverence and humility and talk to God. “Have a little talk with Jesus and make things right.”
Our strength is made new through our prayer life. In 1 Thessalonians 5:16, we find these words:
“Always be joyful.”
The writer tells the people to always be joyful, encouraging them to be thankful in all
circumstances. He tells them that this is God’s will for them because they belong to Jesus Christ. They should not stifle the Holy Spirit, but should always pray, stay away from evil, have a joyful heart, give
thanks to God, and trust Him. When you get a chance, read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, not only are you engaged in prayer, but you also have someone you can pray with. Set aside some time each day to pray. Be consistent in your prayer life. Let God know that you are grateful and thankful for all that He has done in your life. And, no matter what, pray without ceasing!
