PRAY FOR THOSE WHO HURT YOU
Today’s devotion title Pray For Those Who Hurt You, reveals something that we all need to do. We cannot escape this life without being hurt. Somebody is going to hurt us. Perhaps you have already been hurt. However, we need to pray for those who do us wrong. We need to pray for our enemies. Let me also add that even though we experience hurt from others, we also need to pray that God will forgive us for hurting people. Hurt people, hurt people. We cannot do it on our own for the flesh is weak. However, by the power of God, we can pray for those who hurt us. This is a mandate; we are called to pray. This is not an option. Luke 6:28 is our scriptural lesson today,
“Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.”
Jesus, the Master Teacher, speaks of loving your enemies. Jesus says, “Those who are willing to listen, love your enemies. Do good to those who hate you. Bless those who curse you. pray for those who hurt you.” As Jesus calls upon the disciples to be willing to forgive, also pray and not to try to get back or even. Do unto others, as you would have them to do unto you. Read this entire chapter. Underline the word pray. Apply it to your heart and life. God will get the glory and you will be so much better.
