PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER

As a people of God, we must pray for one another. God has called us to be concerned about our brothers and sisters. We must pray for them daily, asking God to bless, strengthen, heal, and forgive them. The Church Without Walls meets every morning from 6 AM to 7 AM, where we give God praise as well as pray for one another.  I have been blessed to receive the prayers of God’s people.  Prayers have been offered for my family, as well as for many others. I know that God hears and answers prayer. Our prayers should never be solely about ourselves.  We should also remember those who are in need, the homeless, those who are hungry, those who need comfort — the list goes on and on.  I love the song that simply says, “My mother prayed for me.” I am the recipient of someone else’s prayers and so are many of you! In Philippians 1:9, we find these words:

I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding.

Paul expresses thanksgiving, writing to the people in Philippi who belong to Christ Jesus. He tells them that He is praying for them. In verses 4 and 5 he says, “I make my requests for all of you with joy.” We already see what he says in verse 9. His love for them is deep, and he wants them to be filled with the fruit of salvation. Therefore, he lifts them up in prayer. Prayerfully, we are all following this example and praying for one another, every day.
