PLEADING WITH THE LORD

At times in our lives, we come before the Lord pleading because we need His help. We may need His protection or maybe we need His guidance. If you have not yet experienced such a time as this, I believe that time will come. There will be times that we cannot handle things alone because life is far too difficult. We need God’s grace and mercy, and we need His strength. So we plead with Him, “Lord, have mercy. Help us. We need you.” This may come in the midnight hour when we have just lost a loved one, or when our body is sick and in pain and we need to hear from the Lord. We can cry out, “Father, I stretch my hand to thee. No other help I know. Come quickly, Lord!” In 2 Corinthians 12:8,we find these words:

“Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away.”

The humble servant of the Lord is pleading with the Lord for help. Satan is tormenting him. He cried out to the Lord, but each time the Lord said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” He goes on to say, “So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” He knows that God knows his weaknesses, and he also knows that God will make him strong. Read this entire chapter when you get a chance, and never stop calling on the name of the Lord. Whenever we are going through life’s trials, we should plead with the Lord for His help; He will show us that He is with us, and His grace is sufficient.
