PEACE IN MY HEART

I have peace in my heart. It is a blessing beyond description. Our hearts are the center of our being. I would argue strongly that far too many people have meanness in their heart and, consequently, have no joy and no peace. I have discovered that we can have peace in our hearts in the midst of our trials and troubles, or when facing the enemy. We can rest on the promise that God will make our enemies our footstool. We can be at peace with knowing there is no peace like the peace of God that will allow you to live right. The peace of God surpasses all understanding! In Psalm 122:7, we find these words:

“O Jerusalem, may there be peace within your walls and prosperity in your palaces.”

The psalmist is grateful for the opportunity to go into the house of the Lord. He begins this chapter by saying, “I was glad when they said to me, ‘Let us go to the house of the Lord’.” He gives God thanks, and he urges the people to pray for the peace of Jerusalem.  He wants the people of God to be at peace within the walls of the sanctuary so that they may find the strength they need to gather for worship, to give God thanks for His marvelous blessings. It is my prayer today that we are all striving to find God’s peace in our hearts. Prayerfully, we will all be blessed with the wonderful, marvelous gift of God’s peace in our hearts.
