Today, my heart overflows with gratitude. This has been a difficult time in the lives of God’s people. Nevertheless, God has blessed us to be near the dawning of Fall. Winter has passed, spring has come, and summer is winding down. We have never faced a season like this season with its uncertainty, pain, grief, sickness and death. Yet, God has kept us while others have gone home to glory. Join me in expressing our gratitude to God for the passing of the storm. There may be clouds or remnants of the COVID-19 virus. But, the bright side is, that this too shall pass. God has not brought us this far to leave us. Today, we express our deep and genuine thanks for what the Lord has done and what He will continue to do. Take a moment and read Colossians 2:6, which serves as the Biblical base for today’s devotion.

“And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow Him.”

We see the Apostle Paul speaking to the people whom he loves. He tells them to express their gratitude to God by the way they live, love, and praise God. With all their experiences and knowledge of Christ, they are called upon to live a new life in Christ. He wants them grounded in the Lord with their lives built upon Him. They cannot afford to return to their old ways of life, but must live a wholesome meaningful life in Christ. Paul’s aim in addressing the Colossians is to keep them from falling victim to their old ways of living. He has taught them to live a life worthy of pleasing God. He shared with them how to live a victorious life; not just by word but by deed. Prayerfully, you express your gratitude to God by the way you live for Him. For all God has done for us, we are obligated to love, serve and live for Him in a way that others will know how blessed we are in having Him as our God and Father. May others be drawn to Him as a result of our gratitude to Him. May the Lord be pleased with our loving and devoted hearts that express our sincere and genuine thanks for all His wonderful blessings.
