I remember a song in church “Walk in the light, Beautiful light”. Jesus the Light of the World.” Those songs and hymns, which are seldom sung today, speak volumes about how we are to live. We are reflections of His light. Therefore, our lights should shine brightly. Jesus is the light of Life. His light shines brightly upon us day and night. His light never goes out nor is it ever dim. In the darkness when trouble is all around, His light shines around us. In the midst of grief and pain, His eternal light still glows. When we cannot see our way, His light shows us the way. Thanks be unto God for His marvelous light. Today’s scripture reference is found in John 8:12.

“Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, “I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.”

In this passage of scripture, the Master speaks about being the Light of the World. Jesus gives life to the world. He is the life giving power that gives light to all humanity. He knows who He is and what He has come on earth to do: to be the Light and lead men, women, and children, out of darkness. His love is made known through His awesome sacrifice. Those who walk in darkness are given a great light so that they may see the Kingdom of God. What a blessing it is to know that He is the light of all lights. Those who turn to Him will never walk alone or in darkness. Praise God today, for those who have experienced the light of life. Their lives are now glowing with His light and it is evident wherever they go. They have joy in their hearts and a radiant face. The question that all of us must answer is, “Is your light shining bright today?” He has given you His light.
