OUR STRENGTH COMES FROM THE LORD
All our strength comes from the Lord. We can do nothing on our own. The joy of the Lord is our strength! Yesterday’s devotion was “We Can Rely on God.” Today’s devotion is “Our Strength Comes from the Lord.” The two go hand in hand, because we can rely on God for the strength that we need in every situation. When we draw upon the Lord’s strength, we can do all things. No power is greater than the Lord’s power, no strength is greater than the Lord’s strength. The Lord can do all things and do all things well. His strength is sufficient to handle every burden of life. In Psalm 147:11, we find these words:
“The Lord’s delight is in those who fear Him, those who put their hope in His unfailing love.”
The psalmist indicates that he is clear that he is aware of the strength of the Lord. In verse ten, he says, “He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might.” He begins this chapter by simply saying, “Praise the Lord! How good to sing praises to our God! How delightful and how fitting! The Lord is rebuilding Jerusalem and bringing the exiles back to Israel. He heals the broken hearted and bandages their wounds.” The Lord’s strength was made known to His people, and they sang His praises. Prayerfully, we will all come to realize that our strength comes from the Lord. Once we realize that, like the people of Israel, let us sing praises unto the Most High God!
