Our Rock And Our Refuge
Our God is a rock in a weary land and a shelter in the time of storm. Many of us can attest to that, for we have been through some unbelievable situations where nothing but God could have sustained us. He has been our help in ages past and He is our current refuge. Take a moment and reflect on how God has been a source of strength in the time of trouble. Some of us have forgotten how the Lord brought us through. Every now and then, it is good to let our minds go back and reflect on the goodness of the Lord. If He brought us through in the past, certainly He will do it again. In Psalm 71:3, we find these words:
“Be my rock of safety where I can always hide. Give the order to save me, for you are my rock and my fortress.”
God has been, and still is, the psalmist’s rock. He is going through some trials and troubles as a result of the enemy, so he seeks God’s deliverance from the hands of his oppressor. He is well aware of God’s strength, for he talks about trusting God since he was young. He has learned through his life how to depend on and trust in the Lord. It is my fervent prayer today that we know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, who to depend on in the time of trouble. Thanks be unto God that He is our rock and our refuge in whom we can always depend.
