Our Hearts Must be Fully Committed
Our hearts must be fully committed when serving God. In other words, He must have all of us: our hearts, our souls, and our minds. Our commitment must be full and complete, for there may be times when our devotion and faith will be tested. The only way to endure the test is if we have fully surrendered our hearts. In 1 Kings 8:6, we find these words:
“Then the priests carried the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant into the inner sanctuary of the Temple – the Most Holy Place – and placed it beneath the wings of the cherubim.”
In the surrounding verses we see that King Solomon and all the congregation of Israel were assembled before the ark. So many sheep and oxen were being sacrificed that they could not count them all. It was truly amazing to observe the dedication of the temple and to recognize that the ark had finally come home. The Israelites remembered the covenant relationship they had with the Lord who had brought them out of Egypt. As God had blessed them, they were called upon to always bless God. It is my prayer today that our hearts will always be on fire and that we will offer God all that is within us. I also pray that we are all fully committed to Him.
