Open Doors

I was literally speechless as I began preparing for today’s devotion. I picked up my Bible and found myself looking at 1 Corinthians 16:9, which is the basis for this devotion. In 1 Corinthians 16:9, we find these words:

“There is a wide-open door for a great work here, although many oppose me.”

Paul writes about how the Lord opened the door for him, yet there were those who opposed him. Difficulty and opportunity go hand-in-hand. Whenever God opens a door, we can expect trouble. God can open doors that no one can close, and close doors that no one can open (Revelation 3:7). Paul’s travel plans allowed him to pass through Macedonia where he would answer the charges of his critics, but he
is confident that he will be able to go through the door the Lord has opened for him. He lets the people know that he will see them when he passes through Macedonia and that the work of the Lord will continue. We should never fear those who come against us when God opens a door. He who is The Door will carry us through the door He opens!
