I am thankful for the opportunity to live at Ogada Children’s Home and go to school. I am in 5th grade.
Hello, my name is Ibrahim. My mom passed away. My dad ran away and married another woman. I was left with my brothers to live with my maternal grandmother. She is widowed and elderly. She tried to do farming on her land but it has been overused for so long, the food production is low. She is unable to work or earn any income. My older brother, Peter, has been living at Ogada Children’s Home. I’m thankful for the opportunity to join him, and attend school regularly. I am in 6th grade.
Hello, my name is James. I was staying with both of my parents. One day my dad went to look for food, and he never came back. That was six years ago. My mom has been left to care for me and my siblings. She does not have a reliable job and works when she is able to find casual jobs. It is very difficult for her to provide for us, even food. I am very thankful for the opportunity to live at Ogada Children's Home. I am safe and able to attend school regularly. I am in 4th grade.
Hello, my name is Samuel. I live with my grandmother. She depends on causal work in order to feed me and my two brothers. It is very difficult for her. There is not much work and it does not provide a consistent income. My father passed away from malaria. My mom is alive but ran away and disappeared. I haven’t seen her since she left. I think it may have been to avoid the responsibility of caring for me and my brothers alone, after my dad died. I’m glad to come to Ogada Children’s Home. I am in 5th grade.

Hello, my name is Tyron. I live with my mom. My father never supported my mom after I was born. She does not know where he is living now. My mom is HIV positive. She struggles to take care of herself and me as well. The only income we get is when she is able to work in someone’s farm or washing laundry for someone. It is very difficult. I am thankful for the opportunity to live at Ogada Children’s Home. I can go to school now. I am in 2nd grade. This also gives my mom hope that I will thrive in life.
