There is no better place in life that I would rather be than to be with God. There were times in my life when I did not have God in life. Some heavy blows caused me to stray. But as I look back over my life, I am grateful and thankful that God is in my life today. There is nothing like being with God. Many of us have sought to live our lives with the pleasures of this life, only to find that those pleasures are short-lived. God has sustained us, and He has blessed us. We have a story to tell and a God to glorify. I am sure that I’m not alone when I say there is no better place to be than to be with God. In Psalm 84:10, we find these words:
“A single day in your courts is better than a thousand anywhere else! I would
rather be a gatekeeper in the house of my God than live the good life in the
homes of the wicked.”
The psalmist declares that he would rather be a gatekeeper in God’s house than to be anywhere else. He has discovered the joy that comes in honoring God and recognizes God as his shield. This psalmist makes clear that he is content to live knowing that God is better than all the riches of the world. He says, ‘one day with God is better than a thousand anyplace else.’ When you have a moment, read this entire Psalm. I pray that you will find, the same as I, that there is no better place to be than to be with God.
