We cannot hide anything from God — He knows all about us. What is done in the dark shall be brought to light. God knows our secret sins that we try to conceal from others. We might try to live in a way that seeks to impress others, but God knows our sinful ways. Let me pause here to add, He still loves us knowing all that we have done, said, and continue to do, He still loves us. That is why the Word says that we should confess our sins to God who will forgive us (1 John 9:10). In Luke 8:17, we find these words:

“For all that is secret will eventually be brought into the open, and everything that is concealed will be brought to light and made known to all.”

Once again, the Master teaches through a parable. The meaning of His teaching is that there is nothing that is secret, because ultimately it will be made known. He teaches that truth will prevail. Luke shares this parable that contains light and wisdom as well as discernment. When you get a chance read this entire story. In verse 18, he says to take heed in how you hear. In other words, pay close attention that you do not miss the meaning of this parable. Prayerfully today, we are all aware that we cannot hide anything from God. There is no need for us to try to cover up or deny what we have done. We know the truth and we are walking in the path of righteousness.
