It is wonderful to know that God will never forsake us or leave us. He is always there. We can count on Him to be our help, no matter what life brings our way. The question that comes to mind is, Will we forsake God? We know He will not forsake us. It is tragic that countless people have forsaken and walked away from Him. They only find themselves in harm’s way when they do this. Remember, although we may forsake Him, He will not forsake us. Today’s scripture lesson is Psalm 91:14.

“The Lord says, ‘I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name.’”

What wonderful words, the Lord will never forsake us. The psalmist declares that those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the secret place of the Almighty God. The Lord will bless and cover His people. The psalmist indicates that the Lord will rescue those with a deep and genuine love for Him. When they call, He will answer and be with them through their trials and troubles. This psalm will cause you to shout and give Him praise for in almost every verse, the Lord stands ready to guide and protect His people. They will never be alone. He will be there with them. God is the only one who will never leave nor forsake us. The people we love will not always be around.  Some will desert us in times of trouble. When we fall and commit sin, as we will do, people might depart. However, our faithful and loving God will be right there no matter what happens. So, today, commit to Him by saying, “God for you I live and God for you I die.”
