MOVE OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE
All of us have a place of comfort where we feel secure. But God has called us to move out of our comfort zone to go to places where we have never gone, to do things we have never done before and to step out on faith and trust him completely. We walk by faith and not by sight. As we step out of our comfort zone, we will be able to explore new and exciting things for the Lord. It will help us to grow and to increase our faith, and it will cause us to have a deeper dependence upon God. We will truly see how God is able to provide us with what we need, when entering into areas that are foreign to us. Today’s scripture reference is II Corinthians 8:3.
“For I can testify that they gave not only what they could afford, but far more. And they did it of their own free will.”
Paul speaks of the call to generous giving to the Lord, and how God will provide when they are sacrificial in their giving. He refers to the Church in Macedonia when they were tested by many troubles and they were poor but filled with an abundance of joy that overflowed in rich generosity. They gave freely, and stepped out of their comfort zone and offered God all they had. They did more than anyone had hoped. They put their complete trust in God. Not only did they give generously in their offerings, but they also offered their entire selves in ways that moved them out of their comfort zone. My brothers and sisters in Christ, you cannot beat God’s giving no matter how hard you try. The more you give, the more He gives to you. Just keep on giving of your time, talents, and resources. Move out from complacency and security. Trust God! Your life will be blessed, and you will grow spiritually when you move beyond where you are now.
