It is God’s prerogative to extend mercy to whomever He chooses because He is the Omnipotent God.  Instead of becoming envious or upset when we see others receiving God’s empathy, we should ask Him for His mercy, and we should also show compassion to others.  I have said on many occasions, if we want mercy, we must extend mercy.  We are obligated to show mercy to everyone. In Romans 9:15, we find these words:

“For God said to Moses, ‘I will show mercy to anyone I choose, and I will show compassion to anyone I choose.’”

Paul makes it clear that God retains the right to choose for Himself, based only on Himself, to whom He will give mercy. God’s choice cannot be viewed as being unjust, for in the final analysis all of us receive mercy. Morning by morning, new mercies are ours to see.  His mercy never runs out.  Thanks be unto God for His everlasting mercy.
