Memorial Day

As we observe Memorial Day, let us remember the countless people who have made sacrifices and have given their lives for this country. Prayerfully, not only will we enjoy this day with recreation and good food, but we will also give God thanks.  Every day is a blessing from the Lord.  This should also be a day of praise with grateful hearts. In Psalm 100:1-2, we find these words:

“Shout with joy to the LORD, all the earth! Worship the LORD with gladness. Come before Him, singing with joy.”

Take the time today to give God praise and ask His blessings upon this world. Notice I said the world, not just the nation.  There are wars raging all over this world. The rest of this Psalm reminds us “to know that the Lord is God. It is He who made us, and we are His.  We are His people, the sheep of His pasture.”  We should be like the psalmist and honor God, for this is the day the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad in it (Psalm 118:24)!  Have a blessed Memorial Day! Let us make sure that we let God know that we are thankful and grateful.
