It is so important, as believers, that we have a deep and abiding loyalty to God. We cannot serve God half-heartedly. We must make the right decision — to follow God. Satan will try to pull us in a different direction because he has a way of making wrong look right. Therefore, we need God to grant us wisdom and discernment, because sometimes we make the wrong decisions. We need to understand that everything that “looks” like gold may not really be gold. We need wisdom and discernment to make sure that whatever decision we make is the right one that God would have us to choose. We can never go wrong when we choose God’s way. His way is the only way to experience fulfillment of love and life. In James 1:8, we find these words:

“Their loyalty is divided between God and the world, and they are unstable in everything they do.”

In this chapter, the author writes about faith and endurance. He said, in verses 2 and 3, “when troubles… come your way, consider it … great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow.” And in verses 5 and 6, he says, “If you need wisdom, ask our generous God and He will give it to you.” When you get a chance, read this entire chapter. Prayerfully, every decision that we make will be right — in accordance with His plan!
