There are times in our lives when we may have to make a choice. We may be asked whether we will serve God or the world — we cannot serve both. God will bless us when we make the right choice and choose Him. When we choose God, we have made the right choice. It cannot be compared to what the world offers. The devil tries to make the world look attractive, but it’s only temporary. The glamour of the world doesn’t last. In fact, it can lead to destruction. But choosing God leads to joy, peace, and fulfillment. In Psalm 41:11, we find these words:

“I know you are pleased with me, for you have not let my enemies triumph over me”.

In this psalm, we see the joys of those who put their hope and trust in God.  The psalmist indicates that the Lord protects them, and keeps them alive, and for this they give God praise. His enemies surrounded him, but they had no power over him. He put his trust in God, and the Lord saved his life. He recognizes that at some point in his life he made the wrong choice, but he is back on the right path and gives God praise for everything. This is what happens when we make the right choice — we spend the rest of our lives praising the Lord. It is my prayer, today, that each of us are praising God because of the choice that we made to follow Him.
